PostPoetry wants texts and artwork that needles, seethes, discomfits, reconfigures.
We want work that can be so difficult to place — nothing written to satisfy the imagined capacities and desires of an audience. PostPoetry is looking for ambitious and challenging creative texts and pictures, which fit the concept of PostPoetry (meaning that they make a contribution to political or social backgrounds – No love poems! No political propaganda! No indoctrination or texts about animals or flowers!)
The PostPoetry Magazine is a platform for people who constructively grapple with the political and social developments in the present and history of this world.
Writers published in the PostPoetry Magazine are in good company: Our past issue featured stories, poems and essays by Paul Lomax, Richard O'Connell, John Wolfgang Roberts, Arndt Britschgi and Christian Gabriel Riedl. We published Francis Raven's artwork. Our artist Thomas Schlereth was chosen for The Renaissance Photography Prize in February 2011. Our writer Clemens Schittko won the Political Poetry Prize "LauterNiemand" in Germany in 2011.
We also encourage unpublished or emerging writers to submit—there is perhaps no greater badge of honour for an editor than to claim, "We first published ________ right before his/her career launched into the literary stratosphere." Newcomers and established writers are published alike.
If your texts have been published before, please mention this in your submission.
For all:
All texts and pictures will be collected on the website first of all. Once a year the printed, hardcover version of the PP Mag with the best texts and pictures is printed. All published texts and pictures will be removed from the website and replaced by the new texts and pictures for the next issue.
The magazine can be ordered directly from the website (Purchase). A list of the magazine's contents appears on the website, too.
Contributors will receive a free copy of the PostPoetry Magazine in which their work appears and get listed in the “Author/Artist index” on the website.
